As for me I purchased this unit to protect my identity and whatnot with junk mail and old bills. It may be a little overkill but I am the type that demands a lot and this product delivers. It was packaged with a bottle of oil in order to keep the shredder working at optimal performance levels. My only regret is that I didn’t purchase this one sooner. It beats my old one by light years.

I’m very pleased with this shredder! I bought this shredder as a replacement for another brand that was better suited for occasional, very light use. This Fellowes shredder is a real work horse, by comparision. I have been using it to shred years of accumulated bank statements, stapled documents, etc., and it has performed like a champ with every pile of paper. I read reviews that thought it was a bit noisy, but that hasn’t been my experience, although the only thing I can compare it to is the shredder I had previously that was simply obnoxiously loud. I guess it all depends on what you’re accustomed to. The bin on this shredder is easy to empty, and my household garbage bags work very well. The safety features are really nice, especially if you have kids in the house. The unit is a bit heavy, but once I got it set up in the office, I won’t need to move it again. Can’t say enough good things about this shredder. I’m pleasantly surprised at how well this thing performs.

I received the shredder in a couple of days. Everything was in order and packed well. Shredder has worked great so far! The first time I tried about 6 sheets, it got jammed. It was easy to clear the jam. That is the only time. I have since run up to 8 sheets at a time, cd’s, and credit cards through it with no problem. I am very please with this shredder. We do not shred every day, so I expect this one to last a long time. It is very heavy duty.

Product arrived in a timely manner & there was practically no assembly required. Easy to use although it is a little loud.

Mine oveheated after less than 5 minutes of continuous use (nothing heavy, just normal shredding). It stops working and then you’ll have to wait for it cool down for about an hour before it works again. I’m very disappointed, and retuning mine for a better model.
