Bought this and tried it in my Canon Vixia HFS10 HD camcorder. Cannot even record at the higher MXP or FXP settings (24 or 17mb/s), best it can do is XP+ at 12mb/s. This is nowhere CLOSE to the advertised potential of 30mb/s. That’s not even HALF of the claimed top speed for writing. I am utterly disappointed with Sandisk who I had trusted up until now. Needless to say, check your write speeds for the various settings on a higher end HD camcorders before buying any flash memory cards.

It was lost in shipping… Amazon asked me for a review, so I will oblige:
I ended up buying the 8gig version because I spent $$$ on shipping just to get the card here within 2 weeks.
Be careful. Someone out there is enjoying the card right now. Hopefully it rains and destroys their gear.
5/5 for the card.
0/5 for my experience with obtaining one.

I bought the 16GB SanDisk Extreme (30MB/s) to replace a slower SD card that would not allow my camera to record HD video (720p). This card works great. Records 720p video from my Cannon Sureshot just fine. I did not give it 4 stars because it was pricey and it did not fold over and plug directly into a USB port (some cards have this feature and it is awesome because you don’t need a card reader or need to burn camera battery transferring files). I knew it did not have this feature, but for the price it really should. All-in-all a great, fast card.

The Sandisk is a great card for the money. New HD cameras need the speed and storage capability of larger memory. Sandisk has the 16MB at a reasonable price for the value.

“Card can not be read” after about 800 photos. I formatted it in the camera. Did not do anything damage it. It just stopped working. Hoping to get a replacement and that this was a fluke.
