Its a really really good wire to have for the old cameras that you have laying around your house, its fast and easy to use, not to mention cheap!
its a good price and investment if you bought a pretty old camera from a garage sale and thinking of filming stuff with it and editing it after in sony vegas or such programs.

I did not know there were two kinds of firewire ports. It would have been great if they stated that it only works in a specific firewire port.

Received the cable quickly and was thrilled with the price. Had no problems hooking up the camera to my computer. Unfortunately I cannot get the computer to recognize the camera. I’ve tried using two types of video software. Based on other reviews this has happened to others, but they are able to ‘jiggle’ the cable and eventually get the computer to recognize the cable/camera. I have tried over and over w/ no luck.

the cable does the job but i chose this one (and paid a bit extra for it over other vendors) for the clear look it has – instead i received a black cable much the one others were selling for half the cost – oh well

This is a terribly cheap item which makes you think you should give it a try but don’t bother, even at the cheap price it is a complete waste if it doesn’t work. I purchased this product for a JVC digital video camera, the cord connection is too big for the camera port. Now I get to continue my search for one that really fits. Thanks for adding to my struggle and wasting my money!
