BEWARE! The item is listed as available but is actually on back order.

this is not stated anywhere on the page. i called once and was told no problem, will ship in indicated time, now the price went up and when i called i was told it is on back order. considering that i need this for a trip, this is not good for me. I wish Amazon would put this up front so the customers would not be mislead.

The rating is not for the battery but for Amazon’s lack of consideration for its customers to disclose pertinent information.

The battery is great as far as the quality and length of recording time etc. HOWEVER, this battery changed the shape of the camcorder (it sticks out the back of the camcorder significantly), so much so that my normal comfortable grip was made impossible to do because I coudn’t rest my thumb flat across the back of the camcorder anymore. The camcorder is very nice, but this is a real bummer as I will now need to stock up on the smaller version of the battery. My hand is a male’s medium hand with relatively short fingers, at least that’s what my golf glove says.

Extended batteries are always a “must have” if you plan on shooting the maximum amount of video that the supported camera will hold.

The title pretty much sums it up. I couldn’t be more disappointed. Now I get to spend $100 for another battery that I won’t have confidence in.

I regret the whole Canon video camera purchase now.
